Hair Loss Myths
& Downright Lies!

People believe in the biggest myths on men’s hair. It’s just too bad that they limit their activities too much for fear of losing hair!.
In reality, losing your hair can’t be such a bad thing. Instead of thinking that you’re getting old, you should look at it as gaining wisdom. If you carry yourself well enough, you’ll still look young. Here are just some of the lies that men have led themselves to believe:
Lie #1: Shaving your head makes your hair grow thicker.
Even some women believe in this fallacy. They think that the hair on their legs will thicken if they shave them. You better think again before reaching for the razor to re-grow you hair!.
You ought to know that hair only seems thicker after shaving because it regenerates with thick blunt ends. The rate of hair growth is scientifically influenced by how cells deeps in the scalp divide and has nothing to do with the hair that’s currently on your head.
Lie #2: The more you shampoo, the more your hair falls out.
What?! There’s nothing in shampoo that makes your hair fall out and start to thin. People just naturally lose 40 to 100 strands of hair on a daily basis because your hair has simply reached its natural growth cycle.
Shampooing just knocks off those loose strands that you’ll eventually lose anyway. This belief also coincides with another, and that’s the less you shampoo, the less dandruff you get. In this case, less leads to actually more.
The dandruff causing yeast feeds on excess scalp oils. You do the math here. Be wary of this belief because dandruff can also lead to more hair fall.
Lie #3: Caps and hats make your hair fall out more.
These two head candies have nothing to do with your hair falling. Instead, you can put the blame on nutrition, stress, and genetics for it. While there’s nothing you can do about the latter, your lifestyle also plays a part.
Keep popping your vitamins and take a vacation. As for your DNA, you just have to live with it. Who knows, you may notice your hair growing nicely once you adapt a healthier routine. If you can do that, hats off to you then!
Lie #4: Men with no hair are more virile.
Actually, this is more of a perception than a lie. There’s zero scientific evidence to back this theory up. This is more on your attitude and the way you carry yourself. Learn to live with what you have and be confident. People will appreciate that about you.
To maximize what you’ve got left, stick to a short haircut that doesn’t weigh your hair down. A slick trick would be to keep the sides short and the top a little longer to make your hair look fuller.
Protect your scalp by using products meant for your hair. Use gels and sprays to style your hair, and please stay away from waxes and oils that make your hair look greasy.
