What Migraine Symptoms
Should You Watch Out For?

by Vinay
(Boston, MA, USA)

When it comes to headaches, migraine symptoms set migraine headaches apart from the crowd. If you suffer from migraines you may be very familiar with the severe pain. But if you’re wondering what type of headache you have, you may want to examine your symptoms a little more closely.

There are several things you need to pay attention to when it comes to migraine symptoms. It’s important to know that there are symptoms that go along with the classic migraine, but many migraine sufferers report symptoms that aren’t typical. Here are a few symptoms you should watch out for. These can indicate that you have a migraine instead of a typical tension or sinus headache.

The first clue that migraine sufferers have is called the aura. This is a time right before the headache pain starts that indicates you may be about to have a migraine.

Typically it causes flashing lights in your vision. It can also take the form of losing your peripheral vision. At this time you may also begin to experience nausea and even vomiting.

Not everyone who suffers from migraine headaches has the classic aura. But if you do have it, it’s a major clue that you’re having problems with migraine headache. Migraine symptoms also include specific types of pain.

Two thirds of migraine sufferers have pain only on one side of the head during their headache – and this pain can be very severe. However, for the rest of the population, migraine pain can be felt on both sides of the head.

During a migraine, you may find that you’re more sensitive to light, sounds, and smells. This sensitivity may last for the duration of your headache. Headache pain can last anywhere from a few hours to a few days. Some people also suffer from the migraine symptoms of light-headedness, difficulty with speech, and diarrhea.

If you have any of these migraine symptoms, it’s important to discuss them with your healthcare provider. There is help for people who suffer from migraines. Your doctor will probably want to perform a few simple tests to rule out more serious disorders. This can include MRI tests as well as simple neurological tests done in your doctor’s office.

But once you have been diagnosed with migraine headaches, you can begin the process of treatment and prevention. Your migraines don’t have to control your life. With the proper diagnosis and treatment, you can be liberated from your migraine symptoms and lead a more productive life.
